Durable Training Balls to Develop Better Mechanics and Arm Fitness Simultaneously

Athletes who train with Driveline PlyoCare balls (or Plyo balls, as they are commonly known) can improve their arm health and velocity at the same time. Sustainable velocity increases come from both a more efficient set of mechanics and improving force production. Whether you are playing the season or training during the off-season, you can warm-up more efficiently and build a better set of movements with our PlyoCare balls.

PlyoCare balls are designed to be used routinely and they can be an everyday tool for warm-up, training and recovery. See some examples in the video below.

Not Just a Throwing Tool

PlyoCare rebounders and upward tosses make for great recovery and warm-up exercises, providing extra stability and strength to the thrower’s arm. You can also use them at the field for easy-to-transport rhythmic stabilization.

Designed for Baseball Players

Driveline “Plyo Balls” are designed and manufactured with durability in mind. These sand-filled balls have a durable PVC shell and design that gives them extra longevity when thrown into smooth walls, wood, pads or nets.

What is the Difference Between PlyoCare Balls and Weighted Baseballs?

Generally, PlyoCare balls are used more often as a part of warm-up, recovery and every day throwing drills. Driveline uses them in a variety of constraint drills to help athletes learn mechanics. They are ideal for younger athletes to vary the throwing load and learn consistent throwing movements.

Weighted baseballs are used primarily for catch play, command work and high-output throwing. Broadly, they are used for lower-volume work that mirrors game-like conditions. During catch play and command work, they are thrown at less than full intent and, during high-output work, they are thrown as hard as possible into a net. We do not train younger athletes with high-output weighted ball throwing.

They serve two different, yet equally important, facets for baseball players: “grooving” a better mechanical pattern through drill and mechanical work and learning how to throw hard strikes consistently.
