SPRI Xertube Resistance Band - Medium

Resistance Bands: Resistance bands make up a significant portion of any successful pitcher’s fitness equipment, and SPRI is the gold standard of the resistance band market. SPRI’s products are inexpensive (about $10 per band), have outstanding quality, and usually come with door anchors to allow for additional exercises like facepulls, external rotation stretches, and upper back/chest exercises so vitally important to pitchers. The Xertube Medium (Red) band is the most popular tensile strength for baseball pitchers, and it’s a great place to start. However, often lost in the shuffle is the fact that you should have access to multiple types of bands – at least a light, medium, and heavy band – so you can sufficiently mix up your workouts and create different stimuli for various muscle groups.

Pick up a light, medium, and heavy SPRI Xertube band to round out your exercise equipment. You can cycle them in your resistance band workouts, including the popular Thrower’s Ten (PDF file) by the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI).

JumpStretch Light (Purple) Band

Jumpstretch Bands: These heavy and thick bands are typically used to change the force curve for the major compound barbell lifts – bench press, squat, and deadlift. By attaching these bands to the bar, they help to develop lockout strength at the top of the exercise. We use them at Driveline Baseball to replace cable machine stacks in order to perform exercises like the Pallof Press, Band Pullaparts, Scapular Push-Ups, and even use them in the power cage for assisted chin-ups and pull-ups. We recommend picking up a purple 50 lb. resistance band (pictured above) for these and many other exercises!
